Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #159 – January 14, 2017

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

benchblog.com

This is a great hybrid woodworking blog. Both hand tools and power tools. Quality projects. This blog entry is part 2 of a rabbit hutch. While you’re there you can subscribe to the blog on the right sidebar to be notified of new posts. (click the image)

Laura Kampf

A gas bottle stove. Laura’s video editing is so entertaining.

Paul Sellers

Another Q&A video from Paul. He also demonstrates hand cutting a bridle joint

Christopher Harpster

An interesting micro-shop setup. Nifty planer area.

Tips from a Shipwright

A good conversation with Louis! I could listen to this dude talk all day.

Matt Heere

A lamp from an old bottle. Neat idea and a unique project.

Shop built

Ryan tweaking his dust collection setup again. A unique blast gate design too.

Ronald Walters

Homemade kant clamps.

Andrew Klein

Andrew shows how he made his fossil inlay table.

In case you missed it…here’s the fossil inlay table.

Exploring Alternatives

I really enjoy looking into alternative living situations. Had I never met my wife I would probably be living in a tiny home (with a not-so-tiny shop). Living in a tiny house boat?

Kyle Toth

A little while back I shared Kyle’s double torus video in this ATW series. This video covers how it was made.

    • I’d have to disagree. I’ve been following his blog for a couple years now and know a lot of people who also do the same. It’s a great blog. I’m guessing you might have something else going on with your computer.

      • I just tried the site here at my office where they have strict firewall and web-browsing standards and it told me the site has malware and it blocked the site for me. I’ve actually never been to this site so I can’t say anything about it’s legitimacy, but they may have recently been hacked or infected. Don’t want to take anything away from that site, just making it aware to browse that site carefully. :)

      • I liked the picture of the rabbit hutch but when I clicked on it the browser kept trying to go to odd sites. After rebooting a bunch of stuff including my router, I tried to go to benchblog.com again and my router’s ai protection told me that benchblog.com contains a trojan. Then without going to benchblog.com I googled “benchblog trojan” and came up with some interesting hits.

The person who runs benchblog.com might have an actual site but that doesn’t mean his site can’t get hacked. There is a Sophos article about benchblog.com as well as a couple from urlquery.net.
