City Hardwoods Cherry Vlog

The next large-scale project I’ll be working on is a makeup vanity. The wood chosen is cherry with a few walnut accents. Shawn Stone and I made a trip to Birmingham, Alabama, to get the wood. If you’re ever in the area be sure to stop by City Hardwoods. I have no affiliation with them. They are just awesome people and I really like supporting other small businesses. Anyway, enjoy the vlog and be sure to keep an eye out for updates on the build. I plan on starting in a couple weeks to allow the lumber some time to acclimate to my shop.

  1. I turned a sow’s ear into a silk purse when an 80 year-old cherry fell in my back yard about 12 years ago.. A local sawyer milled it into 10-12′ lenghts of mostly 4/4 which has been stickered and drying in my garage. I feel guilty using it in mundane projects, and have about 1000 bf remaining. I would like to trade for some maple or oak with anyone in the Northern Virginia area.
