Thom recently showed us a cool use for the mini picnic table design. Solar lights! That’s a very creative take on this little project. Instead of using ketchup and mustard bottles, like most of us have, he decided to use some modified solar powered lights. I think this is one of those incredibly simple and incredibly cool DIY projects. The best part about it was he gave it as a gift for mothers day. Thom writes:
So for the lights I bored 3″ holes and used 4oz mason jars with $1 solar lights from dollar tree dollar stores. The lights when removed from their stakes and housing fit almost perfectly into the top of the mason jar with the seal removed. Use a hot glue gun to attach if desired or if loose fit.
