- Thanks for the stuff Joseph! procon-supply.com.
- Steel wool and vinegar reacted fine but I had best results with the steel wool not submerged.
- Tudor Brown Briwax is absolutely fantastic. I believe I will be using this a lot in future projects.
- I’m going to paint the walls in my master bedroom soon and my wife and I can’t decide on a color. We’ve narrowed it down to 4 colors thanks to Photoshop. What color do you like the best? I’d love to hear your opinion in the comments below.
Of the colors you are offering, my wife says the lower right is her pick.
“my wife says” hahahaha….well, what about you?!
Has to be botton left…
I say the lower left or right.
botton left
Thank you Luis. That’s actually the color it is now :)
My wife an I both like the bottom left color.
Thanks for the feedback Patrick. That’s actually the color it is currently.
My man brain does not see much difference between the top two.
You might loose your bed in the brown (bottom left), but I think the bottom left is great looking’.
Thanks for the input Mark. The bottom left is actually the color it is now. I personally like the green the best.
I think the bottom left goes with the furniture and bedding best.
Thank you Earl. I appreciate the feedback. The bottom left is actually the color it is now.
Bottom left. Matches better with furniture.
Thank you Robert. The bottom left is actually the color we have on the walls now.
Bottom right for sure.
Thanks for the input Dan. The bottom right is my favorite as well.
Bottom left for sure.
Thanks Steve. The bottom left is the color that’s actually on the walls now.
Bottom left is easier on the eye. Your videos are great. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for both ends of your feedback doc. The bottom left is actually the color that’s in the room right now.
COLD? The high here today is 20 degrees :-) LOL
Woah!! That weather isn’t for me!!! I would die as an Eskimo.
Bottom Left is the nicest in my opinion. If you want to add splashes off color, I’d use pillows or something :P
Thanks for the input Danielle. I appreciate it. The bottom left is actually the color thats in there now.
1) Bottom Left
2) Bottom Right
Thanks for the feedback Brian. The bottom left is the original color in the room. The bottom right is my favorite so far.
Bottom left
Thank you Laurence. The bottom left is actually the color that’s in there right now.
Bottom left!
Thank you Lenny. I very much appreciate it. The bottom left is actually the original color in there right now.
Definitely bottom left as it goes best with your furniture. Bottom right is second choice, top two are both out as they don’t mesh well with color tones in the furniture.
Thanks Mike. I appreciate your input. The bottom left is actually the wall color that’s currently in there. We may end up keeping that color but just repainting it.
Master BR color: Definitely bottom-left. Hands-down.
Thank you for the input JD. I very much appreciate it. The bottom left is actually the color that’s in there right now.
Strain your mixture through a couple of coffee filters to help remove the stray pieces of steel wool. Bottom right although I’d do bottom left your wife will probably prefer the color.
Para military organizations, and law enforcement refer to the work shifts as 1st watch, 2nd watch, 3rd watch
3rd watch sucks.
Bottom Left! Great info on finishes! And youve got my vote!
Thanks Matt! Only half of the United States to go and I’ll be President! The bottom left is actually the color that’s in there currently.
Bottom left is a lot more peaceful for sleep. p.s. it’s winter here in Dubai and the temp is 30C, Luvly Jubbly
Great Vlogs Jay
Wow that’s hot for winter! Thanks for the feedback Nick.
Love all of them but I’m a green fan so I’d have to go bottom right. Although if you wanted to change bed linen at some stage than bottom left as you could basically add any colour with the brown. Just read the top comments, missed them first up. If bottom left is current colour you need a change, go green!
Hey again Elaine. I left the original color in the photo but didn’t label it to see what others would say :) I like the green color personally as I’m a green fan as well (hence the green in this website)
I prefer the bottom right Jay. It is a peaceful color.
Agreed! Thanks Howard.
Either of the bottom colors work well with your furnature. The right highligts things more giving a natural uplifting feel when waking. Sort of like the leave of the trees on the edge of a clearing. The left continues the earthy feel, more like the forest floor — cool, damp and quiet. Both are very easy, natural and realxing to the eye and mind, and work beautifully with your furnature..
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback Michael. I appreciate it as always. The bottom left is actually what’s in there now. I’m leaning more toward the bottom right though :)
Bottom left looks good, but top right adds a little contrast I guess you would call it. I don’t know, it just looks good as well.
Thanks for the input Mike. I very much appreciate it.
Its 52 Degrees at 9:00 AM in Rohnert Park, CA, with a high of 70 Degrees today. Wish you were here. HA! My wife and I like bottom left, with bottom right as runner up.
Bottom left, no doubt. It blends best with your furniture and gives the room a larger appearance. However, you must always go with the wife on these things, even when she is wrong. Remember the old adage, “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t no body happy”. You have to live with her.
Lower left. I personally don’t like any blueish-green or greenish-blue.
Bottom left.
I personally would consider putting a beadboard or painted pallet wood half wall with chair rail behind the bed. For the the bottom half color, I would go with top right. Gives you a little color and makes that area stand out. Plus you save on paint. It’s not expensive anyway but you would get a change at a really low cost.
I think the bottom left is the nicest
I like the bottom left as well, more into neutral colors so you’re not so much stuck with something that will get old. I know you say it’s what it is now.. so no painting :)
Maybe you could give your French cleat router table away too. :) We’d pay shipping.
Since you were dealing with pine, do you need a wood conditioner or or pre-stain?
The bottom left is best and it is -8 C her is London, On Canada today!!!!
I’d say the lower left corner
Jay, Not a big fan of green, and you’ve already got a lot of brown. My living room is that same color brown in the bottom left, I like that color, but IMO too much brown overall. In my mind there’s too much green in the top right color. The top left is the wrong shade of blue … have you thought about a soft yellow?
If I have to pick from what you offered, I like the brown the best, but holy brown, batman!
bottom left
Bottom right.
For the furniture you have, bottom left looks best. With different furniture, upper right would be my pick (and is actually very close to the color I painted my office).
I think bottom right is the one I like.
Jay, I feel that bottom left would be best as it is a more neutral colour and allows the dominant features (bed, dresser etc) to stand out.
Problem with taste is “one mans meat is another mans poison” I spoke to my wife who is our taste expert and she said bottom left. Always listen to the wife !!!!!!!!!!
Hi Jay, bottom Right, its a nice green and the splash of colour lifts whole room. I think to much beige can be drab. All the best.
.
If the bottom left is the colour now then I’d go with the green ! great videos keep up the good work
I like the green.goes well with the bedroom set..and green is the color of money… Ha ha..
Bottom Left. Leave it that way.Matches the furniture
The third picture, looks great with rustic finish.
The bottom left color I think looks the best Jay.
Bottom Right! Love the Green! Beautiful Country looking room!
Green
The blue clashes with the furnishings, the third pic, it all washes out or maybe blends too much and the last would be my choice for the contrasts and the cooler coloured wall. Of course, where you are, you may appreciate the warmer colours but I live in a sub tropical environment hence the green preference.
Jay – I like the upper left color, that being said I went and asked my wife and she laugh then said the bottom left. she said my choice was OK but she like the bottom left better. But we both thought it strange to have the dresser in front of a window.
bottom left
Upper left. Unless your wife doesn’t like it…in which case, it’s out.
Actually, my scientific reason for selecting upper left is….I liked it.
Bottom colors works for me.
Either of the bottom two.
Bottom left works best.
Assuming you don’t want to spring for a different color of linens (and I’m not suggesting you should), I like either the taupe or the verde…with a slight preference for the latter. What? Did you really expect me to call them beige and green?
bottom left
Bottom left
Jay…been enjoying all your videos. Your doing a great job. As far as the color of your room, I go with the bottom right. Don’t like the top two and the bottom left makes the room to dull. The bottom right gives it some wow factor.
What is it about 40° degrees there in MS during this cold snap: 2 shirts, a hoodie, a carhart and a new fleece cap? Wow, you really do hate cold! No comment on your choice of colors for the bedroom–I’m color blind, however, I am enjoying your stain experiment. I guess I did not pay enough attention previously but submerging the steel wool in the vinegar would not work. The steel you are trying to change is ferrous oxide which is rust–the reaction of steel with oxygen, so you really need oxygen.
Bottom Right. Relaxing color.
40° would be a blessing here in MI. Just came home last night from a week up north deer hunting. 25° during the day, 10° to 15° at night. Tuesday had 25 to 35 MPH winds putting the wind chill to around 0°. Burrrrrrrrr!!!!!.
Bottom left is my first choice bottom right second. Stick with the earth tones I think.
I vote for bottom right; the green.
The second one, the blue one realy brings out thr ritchness off your furniture. But with my experience i suggest you let your wife decide!!!
Bottom left Jay…no contest!
Bottom Left look really nice.
Bottom left
Bottom right
Bottom Left
Bottom left, we used a 250-4 stone Stone B
Brown in our master & 450-4 Scotland Road green for a bath & bedroom BEHR best paint no regrets. Both colors are similar to yours.
Bottom left Jay classic!
There is way too much dark brown with the furniture and bed linen. Lighten up.
