Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #87 – July 4, 2015

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Teardrop Trailer

This is a day by day walkthrough of a guy named Ioan building a teardrop trailer. I would absolutely love to make one of these!! It took him 31 days of working on it that stretched from February 8th to April 29 and he documented the build quite nicely. Check it out! (click the image)

John Heisz

Yesterday I released my shop tour video and article. Last weekend John Heisz rearranged his shop and gave us an update on what he changed and why. He also made a video covering the changes. (click the image)

The Wood Whisperer

Keeping on the subject of shop tours for just a couple more minutes. This is a 9 year old shop tour from The Wood Whisperer. It’s nice to see how much things have changed over the years.

Ok, no more shop tours today. But here’s a shop project that might be of use to you. An interesting take on a homemade circular saw table saw.

Sterling Davis

My friend Sterling is hosting his second annual Pallet Up Cycle Challenge soon. There will be some pretty nice prizes and I’m also throwing in two shirts as well. If you have a pallet laying around be sure to make something and enter the contest!

Chop With Chris

I have zero patience to work with hand tools exclusively. Kudos to those out there who make great things without electricity. Here’s a carving bench build that looks pretty neat. Made with hand tools only.

Heritage School of Woodworking

Speaking of working with hand tools. This is an overview of a gorgeous Roubo workbench. I change my mind constantly on if I ever want to make one of these.

Beau Hollis

I was searching for different ways to apply a whitewash to a wood plank wall and found this video. Super simple and I like the results.

Joint Genie

A pretty nifty doweling setup. Available for purchase but it’s simple enough that it can be made in the shop as well.

Ronald Walters

A homemade drum sander. I like that this is somewhat a benchtop unit. Not too big to need a dedicated footprint in the shop and could probably be put on the bottom shelf of a utility bench.

Kraftsman Sheng

This is a fast slideshow showing a model robot made from wood being built.

krtwood

I’ve never seen this before.

Shop built

Always good projects from this channel. This time a simple cyclone separator from a bucket and shopvac tools.
