Q&A Experiment with Matt Cremona & Nick Ferry

Hey Folks. This is something completely new that myself, Matt Cremona, and Nick Ferry wanted to try out. Earlier this week I asked for questions to be used in our 3 person Q&A. We recorded it Wednesday night and tried to keep it to one hour. A couple times it was asked if this would possibly turn into a podcast. So….should it? Give us some feedback if you wouldn’t mind. Regardless of if it turns into a podcast or not we definitely want to do it again so if you have any other questions for us to answer please leave a comment starting with Q&A so I know which ones to grab.

The entire Q&A was recorded with video over a Skype call but I also exported the audio for anyone who wants to download or listen to it without video. The audio only is above and the video is below. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Isn’t there a way to get rid of it? Because the “show” is great but the switching and blinkering is kinda distracting. Maybe it is an option which you can disable ( or something like that) Tho it is funny when Matt or Nick is laughing :)
keep it up! i’ll cut the whining ;)

  2. That was great a lot of good information. Please keep it going I think the three of you give great advice and also different takes on certain subjects and the mix of the team works so keep them coming

    • I recorded the Skype call on my end and for some reason Skype flips your own camera. I think that’s so if you raise your left hand it shows on the left side of your image as you look at it.

  3. On my screen you, Jay, had a much smaller box at the bottom; it would have been nice if the three of you were similarly framed; What’s with the beards? I think it pays to have a simple background behind each one of you; Matt’s background sort of blended him in and it was difficult picking him out in the picture.
Otherwise, I liked the program and look forward to more.
Thanks to all of you for presenting this.

  4. Wow! Good questions with great answers. As usual I’ve gained very helpful insight and yes a podcast with you guys would be a benefit to all of you guys viewers.Q&A Jay, what do you actually do? Meaning is it cabinets, furniture or is it whatever the customer requests? You guys did an amazing job.

  5. I ENJOYED THE 3 WAY PODCAST VERY MUCH . I WATCH JAY BATES MOST OF THE TIME AS HE SENDS ME A VIDEO TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK. I DO WOODWORKING AS NEEDED , THE WIFE SAYS I WOULD LIKE — AND === SO IF I CAN’T BUY IT OF I NEED DIFFERENT SIZE TO FIT — AND === MEANS GET OUT IN THE SHOP AND PRODUCE, WHICH I ENJOY DOING .
I DON’T DO AS MUCH AS I USED TO AS I AM COMING UP TO MY 80TH BIRTHDAY NEXT JULY AND MY LEGS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS THEY WERE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER.
    KEEP ‘EM COMING !

P.S. THANKS FOR THE STICKER YOU SENT ME A WHILE AGO !

  6. Jay (et. all)…
Great video! I love the idea of a podcast to listen to while at work. I always enjoy learning more about the makers that I follow. It’s one more way to establish a more personal connection with your audience. Also, the new logo looks sharp!

  7. I enjoyed the woodworking, shop, how to make money type of questions . I really didn’t care about the video editing or how to post videos type of questions, simply because that is not where my interest is ( but I can appreciate the computer technology stuff ) . Overall I really did enjoy the video, and hope you guys make more .

  8. I really enjoyed this and think a podcast is a great idea. Thanks to all three of you for taking the time to make and upload this video, and I look forward to more in the future.

  9. An audio podcast with you three would be very entertaining and informative. And two of you already have practice as a guest host so I say go for it!

  10. I really enjoyed this, hope to see more of the same in the future. I especially liked the different takes on various questions.

  11. Super Guys! I enjoyed it very much and definitely would like to get more. The three different background or experience levels adds a lot to each subject.

  12. I really enjoyed listening to your podcast, it was very interesting and informative. I would definitely subscribe if you made this a podcast. Also, if you guys do decide to make it, it would be awesome if you guys could space it out before or after the Making It podcast so that we could have more DIY podcasts to listen to thru out the week, IMHO :) Two thumbs up!

  13. This is very informative and I got a lot of good information from them. Keep it going and maybe someday I can be as good as they are.
