Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #118 – February 20, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Matt Risinger

Have you ever seen charred wood siding? Charring the wood actually increases the fire resistance of it.

Bobby Hammond

Another charred wood siding example. It definitely gives it a unique look.

Chris Tittiger

The extreme simplicity of this little caddy is nice.

Shop built

Another very nifty jig from Ryan. Well is it a jig?…a DIY jointer actually.

Bellevue Woodshop

Here’s some assembly table accessories to get some ideas from. I highly recommend an assembly table with all of the dog holes cut out like this. I made a few of those offset hole spacer blocks shortly after making my modified Paulk table and they really do come in handy.

Fletcher Handcrafted Guitars

This dude is great with a rasp.

dans-woodshop

Another great way to make leveling feet with hockey pucks. (click the image)

Lumberjocks.com

This is a great read. It might be worth it for you to bookmark it. I often get asked how to make a living woodworking. I’ve actually never made a living woodworking so I can’t give good advise. This is a great multi-part article on how to price your woodworking and make a profit. (click the image)

Cronkwright Woodshop

This is his first YouTube video and he does a good job of explaining how to hand cut dovetails. Good tips in this one. It’s a bit long though so grab a coffee.

Wood and Shop

Joshua’s dream woodworking shop is finished. Looks like a nice spacious place.

BeachBumLivin

This dude has great style. I love the finishing method he shows. This is a great repurpose for an old piece of furniture.

Self Made

Having a problem with rust on your hand tools? This video is for you.

desertsun02

Free (well, after the initial materials purchase) heat for your shop in the winter time.

BALES

This guy’s got a great system for his camera. Have a relatively low ceiling? This might be for you.
