Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #126 – April 23, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Sandra Powell aka {Sawdust Girl}

A picture ledge made from $8 worth of material. Easy project with great results.

Highland Woodworking

Episode 24 of The Highland Woodworking. This is a great episode. We get to meet Thomas Lie-Nielson from Lie-Nielson Toolworks.

Here’s a great little lathe project that will help out at the lathe. A simple faceplate centering tool. This instantly got added to the list of easy stuff to make. (click the image for instructions)

FineWoodworking

Fine Woodworking has released quite a few helpful videos lately. Here’s a great card scraper sharpening video.

Here’s another video from Fine Woodworking from the Masters of the Craft series.

Nick has a good thing going with his Meet The Maker series. Here’s the latest featuring Kenbo / Kennyearrings1 / Acutabove Woodworking. (click the image)

Matt Lane

Recently Matt and I released an intro to HVLP spraying video. After that Matt put together a video showing how to properly clean your HVLP spray gun. Check it out!

Kyle Toth

This is Kyle’s 94th vase in a series of 100 that he started back in 2007. An absolutely beautiful piece. I’ll definitely be turning some segmented stuff in the future due to inspiration from this guy.

Peter Brown

An indoor swing? I’ll take 2!

Candyrat Reckords

This isn’t woodworking but I can’t help but to include it here. It’s definitely interesting. I remember first watching this video some time in 2008 and have probably watched it 100 times or more since then. It’s a great guitar instrumental song that is very difficult to not get mesmerized by. Rylynn by Andy Mckee.

  4. A special thanks has to go out to Matt Lane of Lane Bros. for pleasantly explaining to me why my gun was not working well anymore. Too bad the gun manufactures don’t include a link to the video with their products. My gun now works as good as new again. Kudos to you both.

  5. Hey Jay, if you like Andy McKee you should check out Erik Mongrain he’s just as talented and plays the guitar with what looks like about 12 fingers, Air Taps and Silent Fool are my two favorites by him.

  6. Great update this week Jay. Nice touch with the music by Andy McKee. Just got out of the hospital and it will be a while before I can get back to the shop. Thanks! I needed this!
