Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.
Mid-Maryland Woodturners Club
Check out a master at work. I’ve recently become a huge fan of Jimmy Clewes work. He’s also great at explaining what he’s doing. I actually just watched the entire video again while writing this article.
Laura Kampf
Laura’s got a nice editing style and has a wide array of projects. Check out her brass pen.
woodturningwithtim1
Tim Yoder is another woodturner I’ve recently found and really enjoy his teaching style. I like this project in particular though. It features a fractal burned vessel. Very interesting.
nate crilly
Here’s a channel you might not know about. Nate Crilly making a serving board that would probably do well at craft shows or just to use around the house.
frank howarth
May the 4th be with you! An epic tribute to Star Wars with an amazing project by Frank.
Steve Carmichael
Steve recently got a new scroll saw and put it to use making a beautiful bear silhouette. I never had much interest in a scroll saw but I see how they can easily make a beautiful project with minimal material investment.
Matthias Burger
Part two of his thickness planer jointer combo restoration. This machine is a beast!
Corey Rametta
Another channel you might not know about :) Corey Rametta making an open base miter saw station.
A Young Man’s Workshop
While in Atlanta at The Woodworking Show last month Nate Sandoval interviewed most of the content creators who came for the show and put together a great video. Check it out!
Clickspring
Top notch video and project as always from Clickspring. Truly inspiring work on many levels.
Tips from a Shipwright
I’m nearly 100% certain I’ll never need to know how to do this but I think I could listen to this guy talk all day. I wonder how many years he’s been working on boats?
The New Sourthern Workshop
Maybe another channel you might now know about? Jack Roberts shows how easy it is to make a window cornice in this video.
‘Morning Jay,
I thoroughly enjoy this feature every Saturday. It amazes me how much stuff you find each week. Keep up the good work.
Hank
Hi Jay! Thanks for including my scroll saw video in this week’s post! The scroll saw is great for turning out some eye catching gifts. For Mother’s Day, I cut a butterfly out of 3/4″ maple, then resawed it on the bandsaw into 4 butterflies!
Hi Jay. As always, best part of week, receiving your email with this section.
Regards.
I HIGHLY recommend Louis Sauzedde’s YouTube channel, “Tips from a Shipwright”, for ALL woodworkers. I particularly recommend his videos on steam bending in a plastic bag, identifying red oak from white oak, and the demonstration of his custom work bench for woodworking.
