Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #142 – September 3, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Mitch Peacock – WOmadeOD

A quick and simple dowel jig.

krtwood

Shop tour time! I really like his random orbit sander hanging arm setup.

frank howarth

Frank is a constant reminder of how much the rest of the world needs to step up our game. This guy’s imagination is incredible.

GuysWoodshop

Another shop tour from another great woodworker. This is Guy’s woodshop.

Guy also recently did an overview on his Incra table saw fence. I’ve never used one of these fences but I hear a lot of good about them.

DIY Creators

Don’t have a miter saw or room for a miter saw station? This might be a good option for you.

Elias Stratakos

An interesting build so far. Homemade table saw fence mechanism.

StadiumMapArt.com

This is so cool. Laser engravers and cutters have really opened the door for creative thinking. Check out the detail in this realistic map of Detroit. He’s got a couple more areas and stadiums as well so be sure to check out the rest of the catalog. (click the image)

Keith Rucker – VintageMachinery.org

If you’ve got a half hour to spare this is a really great video on a steam-powered sawmill.

Marius Hornberger

This is a great concept for any workbench or work table with dog holes.

Mike and Lauren

I really like the concept behind this.

April Wilkerson

On my recent trip to Wisconsin I shot a few videos with April Wilkerson and Nick Ferry. This one is on Mortise and Tenon joinery.

Nick Ferry

This table turned out beautiful. Glad I could be a part of building it.

  1. Not too sure i would get away with a toilet sink at my place, but I enjoy seeing what people in the rest of the world create. Maybe I’ll mortgage my house and buy the tools to make a cloud bowl :-). Well done as usual!

  2. Great stuff. BTW Jay have you heard about the policies You Tube has changed recently? Sounds like they are making a fortune off of other peoples hard work and trying to enact policies to take money away from people who create the content. Even though I found your stuff on You Tube I’m going to try and watch your stuff from your site only and for everyone else that has their content on their own site. Just my way of looking at it.

  3. Hey wabagget, what is this about You Tube? I haven’t heard anything about this can you elaborate? Don’t tell me that Google is getting even more greedy. Sounds like they are getting like Ebay, you want to play here you play by our rules and our rules change whenever we feel like it and we don’t have to tell you. Sellers are leaving there in droves for competitor sites that don’t make up bogus charges and withhold payments at their whim. Is it time to find a new outlet?
