Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #146 – October 15, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Kyle Toth

You don’t have to have a huge lathe to produce beautiful segmented pieces. Great perspective shot around 4:40 in the video.

Andrew Setters

Creative thinking for this one.

Make Something

Wall art at it’s finest :)

Mitch Peacock – WOmadeOD

High accuracy hand tool work.

Mike Fulton

Mike did a great job on this night stand. If you’re not familiar with him subscribe to his YouTube channel as he also regularly creates woodworking videos. (click the YouTube logo on the video to go to the YouTube page where you can subscribe)

Jon Peters Art & Home

If there’s one word to describe Jon’s projects and videos it’s professional. Great upgrade on this lamp post.

Katz-Moses Woodworking Shop

An interesting dovetail jig.

I Am Stankoff

Remember the “Is a CNC woodworking?” debate? Well….is a robot that uses a hand plane considered woodworking?

The Post Apocalyptic Inventor

I recently used Vinegar and EvapoRust to remove rust on some old hand planes. Here’s a good video showing rust removal with citric acid and a couple other solutions.

  1. Very interesting stuff from around the world. Really liked the German video on tool rust removal. I have a need to clean up some tools my Dad left me many years ago. Thanks very much.

  2. Love the post-apocalyptic inventor. His preferred technique is similar to mine. I find that clear white vinegar works in an almost identical fashion to the citric acid in the video. I buy it as cleaning vinegar at the 99 cent store at 99 cents for a half gallon or so. Cheap and effective. I really like how he showed that the gel can be useful.
