Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #147 – October 22, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Blood, Sweat, Sawdust

A quick walk through on jointing wood by hand.

Patrick Hosey

Another hand jointing video. But this time edge jointing with the use of a super simple jig. I think a couple of magnets on the side face would help as well.

I Am Stankoff

You can see around the 4 minute mark that the tree has some internal damage as the base of it is hollow. Maybe that’s why it was cut down. But to see something this large come down is a tense. Lots that can go wrong when working with large trees.

ACCBCT

A little bit of quick hand tool skills. Nice :)

ExtremeWoodworker

Woah! Nice shop :)

FranklinWoodWorks

Another shop tour video.

ImagineGrove

Wendell Castle shop tour. Not that great of a video but it’s the content inside that is great.

  1. I am loving these great things from around the web. you must spend a lot of time compiling these. thanks for the info. just as a note I saw you posted something from I Am Stankoff. he has been reloading other videos from around the internet, I do not know the original source for this video but the videos on that channel are not his. thanks for putting these together. I fins something new here every week!

  2. Amazing shop tours. I had no idea some of the machines like the bandsaw in Wendell Castle’s Shop tour existed. The ingenuity in the Patriot Camper is fascinating. I wonder if anything in America is comparable? Good series of videos!

  3. Hey Jay, Joe Johns mentioned a cabinet video you did but I can’t find it on your site. Point the way, please. Also, I can’t help but wonder how much $$ the Extreme Woodworker spent on his shop equipment. Makes me feel better about buying that Festool Domino 500 ;).

  4. Got to meet April today. She speaks highly of you for good reason. Really enjoy your updates. Keep up the great work sir.
