Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #148 – October 29, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Homestead Heritage School of Woodworking

I’ve gotten a lot of hand plane questions over the past couple weeks. In light of the recent trend, here’s a good video on hand planes.

Chris Stevens

A nice video showing the build of a Fairlie 55 sail boat.

The Grain Doctor

This is another great video covering the use of a router jig to flatten a large wood surface.

David Reif

If you don’t have much wall space but do have room for another rolling cart in your shop a mobile clamp rack might be better for you.

The Met

Woah…..This definitely was not made at IKEA.

I think I’ve shared this one previously but it deserves another peak. Another jaw dropping work of art.

WeldedWoodWorks

An interesting cart setup.

Cosmas

I really like Cosmas’ video production as well as his completed table in this video.

FineWoodworking

These are and interesting addition to a workbench. Of course you must have a tail vise that they will work with but the concept is simple and great.

    • I agree with Gaston, great way to sit back and enjoy my morning coffee on a Saturday morning. By the way, no errors or problems accessing you website or postings.

  1. I saw the “bench puppies” video earlier this week. I couldn’t find the plans anywhere that I could download, so I found the drawings in an article. Complete with notes and dimensions and built a pair of them. I used them a couple of times in the past 2 days. They work awesome.

  2. I found the building of the Fairlie 55 fascinating. Awesome boat. I love the Interesting Stuff Around the Web fascinating. Keep up the good work Jay. Love your videoes.

  3. Loved your selection this week. If I had to choose a favorite it was hands down the boat build. Very interesting process and the amount of hand carpentry involved was enlightening. Thanks jay for another interesting group from around the web!
