Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #163 – February 11, 2017

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

This dust collection system is pretty intense. And the article for it is incredible. Click the image and enjoy for a bit…

ISHITANI FURNITURE

13 or so minutes of shop sounds. So peaceful.

Jeff Ferguson

Easy shop storage. That title pretty much sums it up.

Rainfall Projects

Great projects and an even better story for the narration. I lost track of time watching this.

GuysWoodshop

I love the stand Guy made for this jewelry box.

Ran ‘n’ Bone Brown

It’s interesting how changing the top shape of a chest can make it look so unique. The following two videos are part 1 and part 2.

Part two:

Rob Cosman

Top 5 hand plane issues that Rob encounters.

Tommy Tompkins

Multi-use shop tables.

Get Hands Dirty

Another good storage option. The entire wood library is awesome. I really like the bin use for small pieces.

TAOW

Are you an EDC pocket knife user? Watch this.

This isn’t woodworking but I find it very interesting. I recently started watching a lot of his videos. A behind the scenes look at flying a plane. It’s a great channel to subscribe to if you’re interested in this sort of content.

  1. At 10:30 Ishitani hammers the sides of the bow tie key insert. Does anyone know why? Is it to pre-compress the fibers or it that a technique to micro-adjust the fit?

  2. The matslav.weebly.com article/video offering is, as you pointed out, a brilliant and (to me) totally fascinating look at what can be done in a communal environment. As always, your choices to share with us all are spot-on and always interesting. Thanks, Jay!
