Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #183 – July 22, 2017

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

The Small Workshop

There’s something about gears and pulleys that are magnetic. Not in the “sticking to metal” kinda way but the way they always pull my attention in. Here’s a homemade pulley system that will multiply the pulling force by four times allowing heavier items to be lifted with less effort. Great concept that can be scaled.

I met Shawn at the Skiatook 2017 event. He’s full of information. One thing he showed me was his convenience sharpening appliance. He has a production model that people can purchase if they wish but he’s also got a video showing you how to make one of your own. Check it out!

Old, good quality tools have a certain appeal to me. Fixing up an old tool will often times be more friendly on your budget and more rewarding when it’s all said and done. I just wish I could come across good ones more frequently! Don’t we all though.. Here’s the completion of a nice Wilton vise.

Hand cut precision files. Such a simple tool and created with great precision. Chris’s video presentation is top-notch as always.

Mr. Chickadee

There’s something satisfying about listening to a working woodshop. Just the sounds of the cutting edges working. It’s relaxing. Great bookcase as well!

I Build It Home

I love the shadow line look of this wall. A lot of work went into this wall but it’s all worth it in the end.

Prairie Farm Report

Holy smokes what an incredible workspace. I would just live there. I understand this was built for a larger farm operation but as a woodworker I can always dream, right? :)

  1. JAY! Thanks Man! I really appreciate you featuring me on your website! My channel is very small but my subs have already tripled THANKS! I have a long ways to go, but am enjoying the ride.

I was very excited to read that you guys were trying to adopt. I hope all goes well.

I understand that your level of input is changing, but I would love to stop by your shop sometime if you would be willing. I live a few hours away from Starkville, in Huntsville, AL.

    THANKS again!
