Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #221 – October 27, 2018

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

izzy swan

This has got to be one of the easiest ways to make quick bar/parallel clamps. Wedges are so simple and so useful.

An interesting quick release drill press vise. The sliding stop block in back is pretty neat.

Measured Workshop

At first glance, the shape intrigued me and had to find out what is was. One of the more unique wooden instruments I’ve seen made on the YouTubes. I love how pronounced the higher tones are.

Salem Barker

Lichtenberg figures create an organic vein look in wood that resembles a leafless tree. Adding it to a sculpture makes it look much more interesting. His controlled technique is good to watch as well.

Pedulla Studio

Such a large capacity jointer at the beginning :) I like his use of a template for the offset glue up. I’m not sure what’s more exciting, seeing the shape come to life or seeing all that beautiful walnut come to life with the finish.

Mike Farrington

Torsion box workbench top. Especially like the idea of a dust collection system built into the torsion box. And that scissor lift table….I need to find an estate sale…. and a bigger shop.

Jon Peters Art & Home

More great craftsmanship from Jon. Here he makes picture frame while walking you through some custom mouldings. Stacking simple profiles makes easy work of complex shapes. Also, I love the colors he chose for the frames to accent the artwork. Great job as always, Jon.

  1. Izzy Swan’s clamps are awesome! I’ve watched many DIY bar clamp videos, and this is the simplest build yet. Why make something more complex than it needs to be?
