A local friend of mine has a passion for history. He started the Starvkille Civil War Arsenal where he displays the complete collection of Civil War rolling artillery. One of the items he built is a Wheeling ambulance. He built it to the specifications listed in the original build contract and built it with a very modest set of tool. I’ve seen this in person and can only imagine how long those mortise and tenon joints took to cut. The most interesting thing about this build is that Dufy isn’t really a “woodworker.” I mean that in the sense that he wasn’t someone who regularly does woodworking and then decided to use his skills to build a huge project. Instead he is someone with a passion and a desire to build something incredible and woodworking was the means at which to get it done. Click the image to see the ambulance built from start to finish.

There’s nothing like crawling into bed after a long day in the shop. That is, until your pillows are made of wood. This video gives “bringing your work home with you” a whole new meaning. I’m not sure if this is used as an actual pillow or something like a pillow block for various support situations. Interesting technique to make it out of a single board, but I wouldn’t want to use it for my head.

His miter saw station and other clues seem to put him squarely as a Jay Bates disciple. Even a lot of the music video elements seem to harken back to your earlier stuff. Then again, his almost frightening lathe work and style make him a woodworking madman all his own! :)
Hope that you are aware that destroying United States money, in this case the pennies, is illegal. Publishing a video showing how it is done to make a sword is called “self-in-crimination”.
