Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.
The Grain Doctor
Coring bowl blanks is one way to get a lot more yield out of a chunk of wood. This video showcases a jig that makes the process a lot more accurate.

Patrick Sullivan
So many tools nested perfectly side by side. This can increase working efficiency in just about any shop out there. And it doesn’t cost much to make.

Mike Farrington
Mike’s videos always have a lot of process tips and tricks. He’s a great craftsman and this nursery remodel has a lot to cover. Great job on the remodel, Mike.

Kobeomsuk furniture
I recently found this channel and shared one video from them a couple weeks ago. This video features another great piece. And I’m glad to not see epoxy in the “river” area once completed haha. Great piece of furniture.

Next Level Carpentry
A GREAT instructional video on making a set of stairs or a ladder. Overkill for its use? Yes. Information packed? Yes. I highly recommend checking out the rest of this channel for practical woodworking and construction education.

I SIMPLY BUILT IT
I’m definitely building one of these. Everyone can benefit from having a great sanding block like this in the shop. I like that it uses long lasting belts instead of hook and loop pads or sheets you need to cut.

Woodbrew
One of the most appealing factors of woodworking is that you can literally create whatever you want. You’re not limited by what is available for purchase and what you make you will often cherish much more than what you purchase. Have you ever seen anyone hit a home run with a surf board? Woodbrew did it here :)

Dan Berghorst
Can you imagine working in a shop like this all day? Part of me thinks it would be so much fun. The other part thinks the never ending lineshaft noise would be more annoying than a large dust collector. Either way, there’s a lot of great engineering to look at in this video.

If people haven’t seen them (I don’t remember if you’ve featured it here before) people should check out Next Level Carpentry’s saw horses. The episode where he puts something like 12 tons on a pair of them is amazing.
I saw—I built— and I love them. They definitely are strong.

Thanks for including my video, Jay!
What a great set of videos Jay ! Thanks so much for sharing !!!!
Okay, good job, Jay. I am going to build one of those tool organizers for a bunch of tools that do not already live on my organized tool wall. Thanks for the video suggestion.
So proud to see #thegraindoctor at the top of your list!
Have a look at a water-powered mill at Finzean (“fing-in”), in Scotland. I think that it is introduced by Davie Brown, the owner.

Kobeomusk is a wonderful channel. Have you had a look at Ishitani Furniture…? Also love Mr Chickadee – minimalist in that there’s no music, ads or voice-overs.
Best aye!
Alasdair.
