  3. Excellent video. I’ve learned so much from you about woodworking over the years and now I am very happy to follow your fitness work. I’ve been into fitness for 35 years (started in the Infantry) and now that my kids are “tweens” (yeah, I started a family late…) it is more important than ever. Over the past two years an Army Buddy has got me and my wife into barbell strength training and it has been great. Your comments on the Kabuki Trap Bar have us ready to pull the trigger on it.   4. Jay, about rope jumping, you can try moving your hand position backward a bit to align with your body. For some people the natual hand position is slightly in front of the body when swinging the rope. The rope hits the ground in front of the feet and bounces up a bit to hit the shins. The jumps also need to be a little higher as the lowest position of the rope is not under the feet.
    I sucked at rope jumping since I was a kid. The day I started moving my hand backwards, 100+ without tripping became super easy.

  5. RE: the squat rack. Since the sides are what take the weight, it appears it would be a simple task to widen the rack by extending the cross pieces or replacing them with longer pieces. I’m thinking cut in the middle and insert (C channel) metal to bridge the gap. It could be bolted or welded.
