Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #280 – November 13, 2021

Occasionally I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links throughout the week when you find something really interesting.

DIY Builds

Dual monitors is great but adding a TV? That’s interesting. I sure wouldn’t mind editing video at this station.

my mechanics

This is almost ASMR-like. Calm work restoring a hand-cranked hammer drill. A peaceful journey back to new.

How about a little style for your day. This video dips into the Georgian Style of architecture and design. These videos are great for getting style inspiration for upcoming builds. The Georgian style is pretty common in the historical homes where I live in central Mississippi.

Let’s keep the style theme going a little longer and dip into the Colonial Revival Style. Great work on this series, Brent.

As you can tell, I went down the style rabbit hole recently. From the interesting complexity of the Georgian and Colonial Revival styles, we go to the opposite end of the spectrum with the simplicity and function of the Shaker style. A timeless style that can be executed well by everyone.

The Furrminator

Watch this video and put the little nugget of info in the back of your brain. I have no idea when you’ll need it but it sure will be handy. This is great.

Peter Galbert

This is such a simple and useful jig for drilling on an angle. Maybe it can be useful for other tasks outside of chair making.

lignum

What draws me to this channel is the use of a robot CNC router for a lot of very unique cutting. Most of the time it’s really large stuff. In this video, they show the cutting of two really nice bass guitars. Even with the robot working there is a lot of work to be done. It’s a very interesting process.
