Day 228 – Final Shop Build Day + Septic Install

Five guys can build more than a yummy burger. It took this team of five seven working days to build my 40x60x14 shop with a 20×60 lean-to. That’s seven days to prep, cut, weld, and assemble the entire structure. No kit to assemble. This was an on-site fabrication job created from just a top-down dimensioned SketchUp drawing.

While the shop itself is built, it’s far from complete. I had the crew install the meter base and indoor 200A panel. I still need to run circuits for the lights, the camper hookup, a circuit for the septic aerator, and my tool sub-panel. There is so much more on the list, but those are the few pressing items.

Septic was also installed on the last day of the shop build. The size and style was determined by a percolation test completed by the state health department. The tank installed is an Aerobic Treatment System (ATS). We changed our discharge direction to go into an area where we plan on having wildflowers and cat tails.

Onward!
