Day 437 – Milling Wet Lumber

I caught lightning! Well, I caught it on camera. Pause at the 53-second mark to see it. I usually record time lapses of the sky in wide-angle on my GoPro. I wanted to record the audio of the thunder this time, so I used my camcorder instead. I just happened to zoom in on a section of sky to catch lightning zipping by.

After a 7-hour delay to install a water heater, sawdust is finally created! This lumber is wet and sticky. Wet enough that I ran the SawStop in bypass mode. As I was cutting, a puddle of water formed and tracked in front of the blade on a few of the cuts.

Dovetails are next!

  1. Jay, I certainly appreciate your videos and work. I would like to obtain a vest/apron that you wear in the shop. Could you share the resource to obtain one?
Also, what software do you use to reflect you working at different stations at the same time.
    Any info sincerely appreciated.
