Day 444 – Saving a Grand $$$

After a little more than three weeks, the tractor is operational once again. Well, it was always operational with movement and 3-point work. The loader is fixed, though. Finally, I can load some logs!

  1. Hello Jay, I probably missed something you may have said earlier but I wanted to ask if you had considered rebuilding your OEM cylinders?

  2. Jay,

the front hose on the left side is partially kinked. I’d try to move that elbow to open the hose, reduce its sharp fight angle….

    • Yes. I’ve moved the elbow as much as I can, and gave the bottom sweep elbow a bit of a gentle bend. This is the best it can be, given the current setup. I’ll roll with it for a while, but I expect that hose will be the first to need replacement. Everything seems to be working without issue as is. I’ll cover the fix if it is necessary.

  3. I’ve found you have to shop everything. If something appears to be outrageously expensive it must be questioned and alternatives sought out just as you did in this circumstance. There is no limit to what someone might charge if nobody questions the pricing. I had a large water heater replaced for about $1800.00 but some bids were over $5000.00!
