Not with the pines. These were commercially planted as a crop. They harvest ips engraver beetles and southern pine beetles. Mississippi has a massive 30-year timber rotation industry. We are slowly working on bringing the land back to a grassland savanah where tall grasses mingle through the trees. The two acre clearing where our shop is and house will be won’t be as forested as the rest of the property.
