We’ve been eating from the garden for a while now. Jamie started canning for the first time and is really enjoying it. So far, we’ve devoured a dozen or so pint jars of pickles and one quart of tomatoes. A lot of experience gained battling caterpillars this year. Cucumbers have produced the most, then tomatoes. Most of the onions didn’t produce, but we got them on clearance at the same retail store, so that probably has a lot to do with it. Luffas are still growing. They are a late-season harvest. And we got a compost tumbler for immediate kitchen scraps to keep the dogs and raccoons out of the compost. After it breaks down enough in the tumbler, it will go to the compost stations. Also, we’ve had to trap raccoons. They have destroyed Jamie’s corn.

Well done Jamie considering the sort time the garden has been.
Next season should be even more productive as the soil gets established and making use of what you’ve learnt this year.
