Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #77 – April 25, 2015

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Do you like to see how machines work? Or are you just interested in mechanical components? Either way you should check this out. It’s a ton of animations for different types of mechanisms. Hopefully this will get the gears turning in your head…see what I did there? (click the image)

Jim Steinbrecher

The concept behind this is very clever. You could make this with or without a CNC machine.

Jack Houweling

Making dowels from a jigsaw? Seriously, he did it.

Looking for a quick weekend project? I enjoyed watching this one.

I like to use the table saw as much as possible for my projects. With a few different setups you can do a LOT with a table saw. Woodworkers Journal shows you the easy steps needed to create a simple raised panel with a table saw instead of a shaper or router.

Alain Vaillancourt

Mahogany fences for a miter saw station? Yes please :)

Matthias Wandel

Matthias is back at it with another homemade table saw build. Here’s the first part.

  1. Way to go Jay! Your weekly tour of the web is always good, but your choices this week were exceptional. I love how you share these great clips and articles and remain a humble honest man. We need more men like you.

  2. Of all woodworking sites I visit yours most often. I really like the “around the web” series as it shows projects and woodworkers that I was not aware of before. Great job on your videos and posts as well.

  3. much to my dismay, i thought this was the synchronized swimming channel …. what a shock to find out it wasnt ………. just kidding !!! great videos as usual jay

  4. As others have said, you’re a great asset to us all with the quality of your videos and so much else you share. I always look forward to your offerings. Thank you, Jay.
