Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #160 – January 21, 2017

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Andy Rawls

Andy’s videos are great. This is a great conversation covering his pecan king size bed.

Theo Cook

Not really practical…but incredibly interesting.

Najjaar Woodworking

This video isn’t in english but you can follow along with the visuals for making a sliding door tool cabinet.

lumberjocks.com

This is probably the best dust collection mod I’ve seen for a bandsaw. (click the image)

GuysWoodshop

Nothing but quality information and craftsmanship with Guy’s video’s. Here he shows how to get a four corner grain match when making boxes.

Blind Guy Woodworking

Blind guy woodworking. That pretty much says it all. Very interesting. You can do whatever you want to do if you put your mind to it. This guy is an inspiration.

frank howarth

The conclusion of frank’s awesome radial arm station.

Julien Nadeau

A beautiful chest of drawers. Very well made as well.

Jeremy Schmidt

Can you finger joint/box joint all sides of a box? I’m sure Jeremy can figure it out.

I Build It Home

Probably the best video I’ve seen for patching drywall.

  1. Hey jay, I always look forward to seeing interesting stuff from around the web, it almost always gives me a new channel to subscribe to. I’m from indonesia and I dunno if you’ve already seen these channels before but I think they deserve some love too; “hobikayu” & “ayobikinsendiri” they are indonesian but some videos have English subtitles and they both have inspired me a lot

  2. Jay,
Thank you for posting Blind Guy Woodworking. As a hobby woodworker with failing eyes, this was, no pun intended, eye-opening for me. It has given me hope that I could continue woodworking should my eyes fail me.

  3. Great set.Still thinking about the “blind woodworker” Wouldn’t it be great if everyone with some kind of challenge could turn it around. Was a little irony in that vid.He has a mirror on the wall of his shop

  4. Another series of interesting videos, and inspirational. Thanks for taking the time weekly to post some. I hope the bad stuff from the storms missed your place. Here in Russellville AR we escaped and just have some limbs down to cut for kindling. Take care!

  5. You got some cool stuff here today. The blind woodworker and the dust collection for band saw are my favorites.

If a guy with failing eyes can wood work, so can I.

The dust collector gives me ideas for the band saw I will be building (Matthias Wandels 20″ band saw).

Cool stuff Jay ! Thanks !
