Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #161 – January 28, 2017

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Do you know who Scott Grove is? If not…google his name. Incredible work. He’s running a giveaway for his book Hardwood Edging and Inlay for Curved Tables. Click the image to go to the enter page.

Bruce A. Ulrich

Great first video for YouTube. And a very nice upgrade for the walls. Good thinking for not using actual shiplap as well. Good job, Bruce.

Mike Peace Woodturning

I like how this allows for changing out tools with one handle.

wood-database.com

This site has a lot of useful information regarding wood. I wood suggest bookmarking it ;)

Sergio Acuna Padin

Have a drill press? Want to make a mortise?

Jon Peters Art & Home

I really like the statement this piece makes while still maintaining relative simplicity with the design.

AdventuresInDIY

It’s very satisfying making your own tools. Even more satisfying when you actually use the tools you make. Great job, Chris.

King’s Fine Woodworking

This is a nice size box. Most all boxes we make seem to be a little small for practical use.

Jeff Ferguson

A neat way to get inexpensive hardware for a custom screwdriver. Cameo appearance by my feet at 19 seconds in!

Adrian Preda

A double inlay dovetail. I’d like to try this one day. Have you tried this yet?

FineWoodworking

A fantastic video discussing some of the work holding jigs for a workbench.

krtwood

I’m not sure what to add here. Such an interesting project.

  1. Hey Jay

Hope you are on the mend and we all look forward to your shop videos. Just a suggestion that you post a couple dust-free vids of how you make your shop vids. You know – from either need or concept to sketchup to filming to editing. Just an idea buddy. doug

  2. Hey Jay,

People probably ask you this all the time but it would be great to see a video on your chisels and how you sharpen your tools; and also I would like to know your opinion on saw blades (mainly for the table saw).

    Sincerely, Jon Cave
