The new shop is scheduled to be started the last week of October, or the week after. The shop itself is a 40x60x14 red iron welded building with a 20×60 lean to. This shop is twice the size as our last shop because we will likey be doing twice as much with it. I plan on setting up half the shop very similar to my last woodworking shop. The rest of the space we will figure out as we go.
We initially planned on parking the camper inside and building a shop bathroom and small kitchen space. But after much consideration, we will keep the camper in the shop over the winter and when the time is right (hopefully in spring or summer) we will park the camper outside and build a 320 square foot apartment in the shop.

12 foot garage door could be limiting
Consider 14 foot door
I don’t see and storage area – shelving?
where do you stack wood supply?
Tool storage?
Heating/A/c?
wood stove to burn wood scraps?
Yessir, the “SketchUp Ninja” is back in action.
I LOVE listening to you explain things when you have SketchUp as your “tool of the day.”
Keep it up, brother!

Jay,
The apartment is a good idea. You mentioned that it could be a no-shoes area, thus keeping it cleaner. With that said, have you considered having an external bathroom door? That way, you can keep your shoes on while working and not have to go through the apartment.
