The day for concrete arrived, and it was such a beautiful day. The crew came on a Wednesday to complete the forms, and the concrete was poured and finished the following day. I included one sewer out, one water in, and two 2″ conduit stub outs for future expansion in the concrete.
On the form day, I stayed out on the property to smoke a pair of Boston butts for pulled pork. Sitting around a firebox while stretched out on a zero gravity chair with the sound of nature in full swing and the brisk evenings of fall setting in…..ahhh, such a relaxing time. On concrete day, I cooked 10lbs of garlic parmesan mashed potatoes. Zero complaints from the crew.

All of this work, the cement pour, spreading road base, feeding the crew, is reminiscent of the similar work we completed five years ago on our property in N. Calif. My son is a cement contractor and brought his crew to do the work. After the pour we all had a great meal together including the truck drivers and the cement pump truck driver. I was amazed that they completed the 6″ slab so quickly. It was a fun day. I am having fun watching you and your family and the work you are completing together. It is great! Larry Brazil
