Last year, we got hit with a devastating ice storm. The power was out for a week, and we rationed our generator fuel a few hours at a time for electric heat in our half-built apartment. We survived, but it wasn’t comfortable. As predictions of another bad winter circulate, I installed a wood-burning heater that will keep our entire shop warm and cozy. We should have enough dried firewood to get us through this winter, but there’s no time like the present to start on next year’s supply.
