Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #110 – December 19, 2015

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

This looks like a simple little jig to help making mortises at the drill press. Assuming you have a drill press table that will accept the jig. Click the image for a detailed diagram.

Ed Stiles

I’d like to see more videos from this guy. From the looks of his shop in the background I’m sure he’s got quite a few lessons to tell. Very organized. In this video he shows his box joint jig.

Dema’s WoodShop

Anyone with a lathe can take advantage of this easy disk sander. Super easy project and he’s got free plans available as well.

Although this was made specifically for a Shapeoko 3 CNC machine it would be a great shop cabinet for just about anything you want to put on top of it. And because the top is a tortion box it should remain very flat. He’s also got a video covering the build. (click the image)

Modern Builds

I just found this channel and really like what I see so far. Mike shows us in this video how he made a pretty big dog house.

The Reclaimed Wood Shop

Although this was from back in July I’d like to nominate this one for video of the week. You’ve got to see this video. Tons of amazing editing.

FineWoodworking

Contrary to the title this isn’t much of a shop tour. It is, however, a great shop talk conversation in a very nice shop. Definitely worth the watch if you haven’t seen it already.

Kyle Toth

Kyle has definitely carved out a unique style for himself (<—see what I did there?). I still find it amazing that he started out editing his videos on an iPod. I’m not sure what his inspiration was for these but I’m instantly reminded of Mario boxes.

Carl Jacobson

I’m blown away at what this man can make on a lathe. This is an absolute work of art. If you’re looking to get into lathe turning this is the guy you need to subscribe to.

Wefi Surfboards

Vimeo sure does have some beautiful videos. This one is a short clip featuring cedar surfboards.
