Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #133 – June 11, 2016

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

Here’s a simple desk/vanity design that has quite a bit of storage and can be themed to match just about any space. (click the image)

Billy Coore’s Retromercials

An entire wood shop :)

Paul Sellers

Alternative clamping situations on a workbench. Another useful video from Paul.

Shop built

This looks like a pretty handy tenoning jig.

Rob Cosman

I’ve learned a lot of hand tool techniques from watching Rob’s videos. Here he shows someone else first hand how he cuts dovetails. Some good info to pick up on if you watch for the techniques.

John Neeman Tools

The birth of a wooden house. This is such a great video. I really enjoyed the pace of it. And the final result of the house is stunning. Definitely worth the 26 minutes.

This house is a little different from the last one….

Savvas Papasavva

Air cleaners seem to be a popular projet these days. Here’s one from Savvas.

Jack Houweling

Another air cleaner but more of a box fan style.

Waylight Creations

A useful and easy to make storage cabinet.

  1. Didn’t have time to watch any more than one video today… must come back to see the rest another time. However, “The Birth of a Wooden House” is an AMAZING video to watch from start to finish.

    Thank you Jay.

  2. Hey, Where did you find the picture of the indoor pizza oven that you used for your header? Thats nice.Keep up the good work sir.

    • Hey Danny. For future reference. Look in one of the corners of the image for the image credit. I always pull it from one of the videos I share. This one was from the Birth Of A House video.

  3. Hey Jay, interesting that you included videos from Paul Sellers and Rob Cosman. They are my hand-tool tutors on YouTube, Paul showed me how to sharpen chisels but I use Robs method for my plane blades.

  4. “Birth of a Wooden House” was the most incredible 26 minutes of web viewing I’ve experienced in a long time. The act of building the home is only matched by the filmmaking. I don’t know how much internet you have to go through each week to find each of these grains of brilliance in the vastness of the web, but “Thank You!”.
