Interesting Stuff From Around The Web #227 – December 8, 2018

Every week I like to share a few things I find interesting. Mostly video content with an occasional website article. All of the content you will find in these posts is free to you. Remember that liking, subscribing, or sharing free content goes a long way in helping produce more free content. If you like that creator’s work, share it! Also, thank you to those who send me links through the week when you find something really interesting.

My Garage Woodshop

I’ve shared this video before but it definitely deserves another look. If you haven’t seen it yet be sure to take notes. I always recommend the planer purchase to come before the jointer purchase. The reason is this jig. You can build a sled like this to allow jointing of larger stock with the planer but you will never be able to plane with a jointer.

Matthias Wandel

An oldie but a goodie. Matthias uploaded this video a few months before I uploaded my first video to YouTube. If you have not adequately prepared for the zombie apocalypse, this DIY air raid sijhren will help get you one step closer so you can notify your friends and neighbors of their impending doom.Or you could just make one to re-enact old war movie scenes; whatever your pleasure.

Got It Made

Build the Castle Whiskey Cabinet. Nice build. Have you seen one of these machines? I saw their booth at IWF Atlanta 2018 and they had some nice machines. The pocket is a much lower angle pocket so it reduces shifting common with 15 degree pocket holes. I particularly liked the idea of not hiding the pocket holes but making an accent of them.

Blair’s channel is a wealth of knowledge about trees. Not only does he provide great information about trees but cutting them as well and the dangers involved. This video is properly titled Widow Maker. Some situations can be quite dangerous. Luckily nobody was hurt.
