A friend let me borrow his box blade to use on the property. The Cat 1 pins were in rough shape, bent and broken. When you borrow something, it’s best to return it in better condition. The $20 I spent on new pins is well worth the time and wear and tear I put on the box blade.
The tractor has to go in for warranty repair due to a strangely implemented hydraulic fitting supplying the power steering that is strangely not serviceable. I contacted the manufacturer to get a part number for the fitting and was told a part number for that fitting doesn’t exist. Replacing the entire power steering hydraulic cylinder assembly is the solution. I’ll keep you updated..
Electric changes were approved and are paid for. I’m waiting for when they will start. I hope to get a notification so I can run out there and record.
The water meter has been paid for and I’m just waiting for them to get started as well. I hope to record some of it. Afterward, I’ll trench 1300′ of 2″ pipe to the clearing. Ultimately, I want a well drilled, but financially, it’s not in the cards at the moment. I’d like to use the city-supplied water to drill a few shallow wells on the property and have that tested to determine how we can use it.
I met with the septic installer and was told I needed to jump through more hoops to get the Mississippi Department of Health involved by having them do a perc test so they can tell me what the professional septic installers have already told me. Yay! More government overreach!

I am on a city council and completely agree about all the rules and permits we are forced to get to live on our own property. There is no way an inspector no matter how many courses they have taken can be an expert in all facets of construction. I can guarantee you none of them could install an AC system and make it operate. Some council people think we need more restrictions, we need much less. That being said, the main issue is America is using the international building code. Mainly is permitting fees.
It’s not government overreach. It is protecting people from themselves and protecting the livelihoods of tradesmen who spent time and money getting trained and qualified and who give Americans reasonably decent water and waste water services.
I noticed in today’s. Video that you are wearing a sidearm. It is the first time I noticed it. Is there some sort of danger on your property that requires a sidearm?
