xTool P2 Laser Engraver Cart – Free Files

I recently accepted an offer to pay for the xTool P2 laser engraver via three marketing videos. More on that in the next few weeks. Since getting it set up my wife has started a business and has been cutting and testing as much as she can. The problem is, it’s in my way. For the first week and a half, we used my assembly table as the workstation. That’s obviously not a long-term solution so a cart is in the cards.

I designed an MDF cart in SketchUp, exported it to VCarve Pro, and cut it out on my CNC machine. I’m offering the vector files for free if you want to use them. The vectors include a 49″ x 97″ boundary box to indicate a sheet of MDF. Use this box for a scale verification upon import. Two sheets of 3/4″ MDF are needed, with over a half sheet left over. The vectors assume 0.750″ is the material thickness. Plus or minus two thousandths shouldn’t be an issue. The vectors also contain dog bones at each interior corner and assume a 3/8″ diameter bit is used for the cut. A 1/4″ diameter bit also works.

  1. Hello Jay, I was wondering what (if any) plans or contingencies you had for supporting the pass-through extensions for the laser? folding leaf maybe?…

    • Because I don’t think they will be used super frequently I decided to not add any design elements to the cart for the extensions. Instead, we will use folding party tables and whatever shims are necessary to get the table to the height of the cart.
